Resolution Games today announced its latest title, a mixed-reality sports game called Home Sports. The game is made for Meta’s Quest 3 headsets, including the just-revealed Quest 3S. As the name suggests, Home Sports offers players a virtual sports experience, with local and online multiplayer for those who want a social virtual gym experience. Home Sports does not, at present, have a launch date.
Home Sports features five sports: Hockey, bowling, pickleball, mini golf and badminton. Each sport is tailored to the player’s space, so players can jump between sports at will. This is not Resolution’s first foray into VR-based sports, as the studio also created Racket Club, a multi-sport title for racket-based sports. Its other games include tabletop sim Demeo, board game VR title Game Room and upcoming first-person shooter Spatial Ops.
Tommy Palm, Resolution Games CEO, said in a statement, “At Resolution Games, we want our games to create real impacts on people by creating real connections, real movement, and real fun. Home Sports checks all of those boxes and is a true showcase of the magic of mixed reality on Meta Quest 3 & Meta Quest 3S, allowing players to move freely in the game as you weave back and forth to hit the birdie in badminton or move around the mini golf course, much like you would in the actual sport, and we can’t wait for everyone to experience it.”
Meta revealed the Quest 3S at today’s Meta Connect event. It’s a cheaper version of the Quest 3 with a $299 price point that purportedly has longer battery life. It’s compatible with the Quest 3’s games library, and anyone who purchases a Quest 3 or 3S gets three months of the Meta Quest+ games subscription service and a copy of upcoming game Batman: Arkham Shadow.
