Google Play now allows you to play two PC games simultaneously

Google today announced new ways its augmenting the Play platform, which includes several game-related updates. These updates include a new feature for Google Play Games on PC that allows players to have two games running at the same time — one to play, and one to grind. Other updates include new games coming to Play Pass and new experiences for Play Points earners.

Play for PC’s new feature isn’t intended to allow active play in both games. Rather, the user plays one game while “keeping an eye on resources” in the second game. This implies the second game would always be some kind of idle game where the player steadily accumulates resources over time. At this time, Play for PC supports hundreds of games, many of them idle games with timers, meaning that Android gamers might find this feature useful.

Google also announced which new games are coming to Play Pass: Asphalt Legends Unite is available today and Call of Duty: Mobile and Candy Crush Saga on August 1. The platform adds Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance sometime later in the year.

In addition to games, Google revealed it’s adding new rewards and experiences for its Play Points program. This includes a member event at San Diego Comic-Con, where Silver+ members get VIP access to a “Wheel of Champions” created in collaboration with Marvel Games and Kabam. This gives them the chance to earn exclusive rewards, including photo ops.
