Climax Studios announces its new studio in Scotland

Climax Studios, part of Keywords Studios, announced today that it has expanded by opening a new location in Edinburgh, Scotland. Like the main office, the new Scottish branch will offer co-development services for triple-A studios, including Microsoft and Sony. The studio has built up its Edinburgh staff for the last few months, and is currently still hiring.

According to the studio, its services at the new studio include “game codevelopment, platform porting, technical and optimisation support” as well as other services. Originally founded in 1988, Climax Studio has developed multiple games of its own, including Assassin’s Creed Chronicles and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. Keywords acquired Climax in 2021, and the studio has offered co-development services on multiple games, including Housemarque’s Returnal and Relic’s Age of Empires IV.

Simon Gardner, Climax Studios head, said in a statement, “This expansion is the next step in our evolution. Over the last few years, we’ve continued to grow and innovate as a service provider and a developer. Opening another location allows us to flourish, offer new roles to game industry talent and support our clients and partners more than ever.”
