Last week, Applied Motion Products Inc. introduced its AW Stepper Motors, which have an IP65-rated design to ensure reliable operation in harsh environments. The Morgan Hill, Calif.-based company said these motors are engineered to shield internal components from external contaminants such as dust, dirt, moisture, and grease.

Founded in 1978, Applied Motion Products (AMP) said it is committed to advancing motion-control systems. As a leading manufacturer of components for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), the company builds high-performance motors and drives for a broad range of applications where precise control of position, speed, and torque is required.

AW Stepper Motors built for endurance

Applied Motion Products claimed that the reliability and long service life of AW Stepper Motors can help minimize maintenance and downtime, enhance production efficiency, and ensure dependable machine performance.

Such motors can ensure continuous and reliable operation in high temperatures, high humidity, dusty conditions, and moderately corrosive environments, it added. The company listed the following features of its AW Stepper Motors:

  • IP65 environmental protection level
  • M8, M12 industrial connectors
  • NEMA (National Electrical Manufacturers Association sizes) 17, 23, 24, 34
  • Optional brake
  • Optional 1,000-line optical encoder
  • Improved abrasion resistance
